Eleven paddlers enjoyed perfect weather at Spider Lake for the final PGOSA paddle for 2020.
The water was like glass and we had the lake pretty much to ourselves except for a large flock of geese that flew in, the resident ducks and a racoon.
There was basically no wind for the entire paddle so we enjoyed reflections of the shoreline, trees and of our paddling comrades.
We followed the shoreline all around the lake at a leisurely pace and returned to the launch site at Spider Lake Provincial Park for lunch and a good visit.
Circumnavigating the lake at this slow pace took an hour and 45 minutes. After lunch 5 paddlers returned to the lake to paddle a bit more but mostly just to bask in the sun.
Beautiful.
