Trip Report: Six paddlers traveled on the West Main Logging Road to the lower Kennedy River. The road is in terrible shape and not recommended for future PGOSA trips. The conditions on the river were perfect, dead calm with plenty of scenic views. The group had lunch at an old fish hatchery near the rapids into the ocean, and then headed back to Rainbow Beach for a swim and a visit to a massive, old-growth cedar tree. The paddle length was 10.7 miles. The group was very tired, but happy.
